The purpose of the Messianic Feasts are for us as believers to reflect on events that happened in the past that were foreshadows of things to come and for us to rehearse events that were to take place and are take place in the future regarding the Messiah. The Messianic Feasts have a very special meaning and are a real blessing to celebrate as a believer in Messiah.
Some of the Messianic Feasts have been fulfilled with the first coming of the Messiah when He came as the prince of peace ie: conception, birth, baptism, death, and ascension. And some of the Messianic Feasts are yet to be fulfilled like the Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement when the Messiah comes with eyes of fire to establish his Kingdom on earth and to begin His Sabbatical Millennial Reign (from year 6000 to 7000 true time).
Understanding the Messianic Feasts in relationship with His reckoning of time (Sacred Calendar) is the key to understanding prophecy. We as believers in Messiah should be focused on His return. The second coming of the Messiah will be such a major event that we as believers should rehearse this event, it will only happened once. The Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement is a Feast that was made specifically for us to rehearse this event, that is what the Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement is about. Why any believer in the Messiah would not want to participate in such an event is far beyond my understanding.
